The Parks & Recreation Division is hosting a design competition between playground companies to see who can design the best playground for the space.
Cook Park is the oldest and most well-known park in the City of Tigard. The park has a rich history and a variety of amenities including a large playground structure that has aged beyond its useful life.
“The goal is to provide an experience that is memorable for a lifetime,” says Project Manager Carla Staedter. “The new playground should reflect the significance of Cook Park and be a welcoming destination for people of all ages and abilities.”
The city is excited for the community to get involved in the process. The Parks & Recreation Division is hosting a design competition between playground companies to see who can design the best playground for the space. “Best” will be informed by an engagement process, that kicks off with a hybrid (in-person and online) ‘Design Day’ open house in November. Attendees will have the opportunity to tell designers directly what is most important for the design.
Note: This event will follow the city’s COVID Health & Safety Protocol which requires masks, distancing, and a self health check.
